What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting KPMB’s financial health. You will manage a high volume of transactions with precision, contributing to the seamless operation of our financial processes.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and adept at managing accounts payable tasks efficiently. You will collaborate closely with vendors, internal teams, and the accounting department to verify invoices, process payments, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Success in this role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential.
This position is well-suited for a finance professional who values process improvement and is eager to enhance the effectiveness of our accounting operations.
Select responsibilities:
Accounts payable processing
- Review and process invoices, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and compliance with company
policies. - Accurately enter CAD and USD invoices, employee reimbursements, and corporate credit card transactions
into the accounting system. - Reconcile corporate credit card statements, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and receipt backup
compliance. - Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring accuracy and completeness in alignment with internal financial
controls. - Process electronic payments promptly, including EFTs, wire transfers, and cheque payments.
- Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure payments are made according to agreed terms.
- Communicate efficiently with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries.
Financial reporting and compliance
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing accruals and reconciliations related
to accounts payable. - Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
- Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accessibility for audits and financial
reporting. - Support internal and external audit requirements by providing necessary documentation and responding to
inquiries. - Identify opportunities for improving accounts payable processes and collaborate with the team to implement
efficiency enhancements. - Work closely with the Controller on special projects and financial reporting as required.
Candidate profile + qualifications
- A diploma and/or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role, preferably in a
professional services environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is an asset).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.

Salary range:
Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $53,000.00, commensurate with experience.
Transportation and bike storage:
A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
