Research and innovation at KPMB is multidisciplinary and driven by curiosity and a desire to craft design solutions that improve people’s lives.

Our capacity for exploration and experimentation extends beyond individual projects — it shapes everything we do. We are always assessing materialities, emerging technologies and infrastructures, and the environmental, social, and economic implications of our work.

We engage creatively in the office — within teams and through KPMB Lab — and externally with clients and industry partners, including academics, scientists, and subject-matter experts, to conduct research and develop innovative design solutions. From effective methods for climate change mitigation and building envelope design to affordable housing typologies for rural and urban sites, we carefully consider and utilize all the techniques and tools necessary to promote the health and well-being of people and the planet.

We are agile and unafraid to stretch the possibilities of convention. Our readiness to learn, ask questions, and challenge existing paradigms allows us to reimagine how we design spaces while responding to the pressing issues of our time.
