Business Development Coordinator (Graphic Design Focus)

What we’re looking for:

As a key member of the marketing and business development team, the Business Development Coordinator will leverage their graphic design skills and experience in supporting business pursuits to drive the design and development of all stages of the proposal process, including presentations and supporting assets and collateral. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to quality and excellence and contribute as a creative and enthusiastic designer.

The core objective of this role is to support the coordination of business development pursuits and create visually compelling graphics that enhance the firm’s business development efforts. This role will be accountable for developing high-quality visual content that communicates the firm’s capabilities and rich history to a variety of potential clients and audiences.

Select responsibilities:

Proposal and RFP responses: 

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Communications, and Business Development teams to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions for proposals, presentations, interviews, brochures, etc.
  • Participate in pre-landing/RFQ/RFP/interview strategy sessions including the tracking proposal elements and requirements responsibilities and timelines.
  • Support the planning, and delivery of professional, visually compelling and persuasive proposal documents within allocated time frames.
  • Work closely with project architects, leadership, and other stakeholders to develop and refine design concepts for marketing materials.
  • Develop high-quality graphic content using Adobe Creative Suite + Affinity for business development materials, including brochures, presentations, proposals, and other digital and print assets.
  • Ensure all graphics adhere to KPMB’s brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and improve existing design processes.
  • Support interviews for new bids and generate and coordinate PowerPoint presentations, materials, and other collateral.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of graphic content for client meetings and industry events.

Project coordination: 

  • Coordinate multiple graphic design initiatives simultaneously, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery while staying within allocated hours and budgets.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and improve existing design processes.
  • Organize and coordinate interviews, coordinating key personnel, materials, and collateral.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of graphic content for client meetings and industry events.
  • Coordinate with architectural partners externally and subconsultants on joint-venture projects.
  • Prioritize tasks and coordinate with team members to meet pursuit and special project deadlines.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation of all design work.

Research and innovation: 

  • Conduct research and required analysis to support pursuit development processes and collateral.
  • Stay abreast of KPMB’s competition, their strategies, tactics, and general best practices to inform our own competitive approach and advantage.
  • Build and maintain strong project partner and vendor relationships.
  • Research and implement innovative design tools and technologies to improve efficiency and creativity.
  • Provide innovative solutions to enhance the firm’s visual communication strategy.

Candidate profile + qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or or diploma in Marketing Communications, Graphic Design, Visual Communications with work experience preferably within the Architecture/Design industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in competitive bids, responding to rigorous compliance requirements and standards in the AEC industry.
  • Graphic design experience across print and digital marketing with a proven capacity to drive beautiful and efficient solutions in support of business pursuits.
  • Demonstrable and successful track record of planning, strategizing, producing, and delivering successful RFQ/RFPs to shortlist firms.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills in technical, creative and persuasive storyboarding and creative direction of presentations.
  • Strong technical proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite especially in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as MS Suite.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior leadership and generally thrive working within a fast-paced, creative, and innovative environment.
  • A proven combination of design capabilities and technological expertise.
  • Strong time management skills, deadline oriented, and results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while meeting KPMB quality standards.
  • Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • A pulse on a broad range of local and global issues and cultural awareness.

Salary range:

Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $70,000.00, commensurate with experience.

Transportation and bike storage:

A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
