What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Digital Practice Coordinator (BIM Coordinator) to join our team. This digital-focused role is integral in ensuring that our projects operate smoothly and efficiently, supporting with BIM troubleshooting, digital expertise, and Revit content creation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve BIM-related issues promptly, support team learning, and maintain clear communication with project teams. The role demands a self-motivated individual who is proactive and eager to support the knowledge development of others in their area of expertise.
You will work as part of the Digital Practice team to resolve BIM issues, create families and content, and support project teams, ensuring project delivery requirements are met. You will contribute to the effective operation of project BIM workflows and processes, keeping the team informed and able to resolve day-to-day BIM challenges.
Select responsibilities:
Digital Practice/BIM support
- Provide support to architectural employees, troubleshoot and resolve BIM-related issues, and share learnings on the tools and best practices to support the organization’s collective development in BIM and digital tools.
- Assist project teams with various levels of support with new technologies, programs, and plug-ins across multiple programs, including Rhino, Sketchup, Revit, etc.
- Be readily available to assist architectural teams, particularly near major project deadlines.
Project BIM Model Management
- Assume the role of Project BIM/Model Lead for specific portfolio projects.
- Manage BIM model workflows, standards, and health for select portfolio projects.
- Provide necessary support to ensure teams follow best practices, utilize templates, and maintain good model health.
Family and content creation
- Create families and content for office content management tool.
- Lead a reasonable turnaround time with on-demand family development on a by-need basis.
Office standard implementation
- Support the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they are familiar with our Digital Practice tools, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure projects are following office-wide standards, templates, and workflows.
- Contribute to project-based documentation of BIM standards, best practices, and troubleshooting steps for internal reference.
Additional responsibilities
- Complete model health checks and implementation of model maintenance and hygiene.
- Provide one-on-one software training and upskilling for teams and staff.
- Assist in quality control and testing for software, plug-in updates and deployments.
- Take part in Working Group discussions and developing and implementing new standards, products, and workflows.
- Contribute to rendering and visualization workflows.
- Assist with VR technology.
- Ad hoc BIM tasks as directed by the Digital Practice Lead.
Candidate profile + qualifications
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Science, Architecture Technology, BIM Management, or related field.
- Up to 5 years of experience in an architecture/BIM-related role with relevant experience.
- Advanced working knowledge of Revit software is a requirement.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, and Sketchup to provide additional project support.
- Knowledge of computational/parametric design, as well as the use of products such as Grasshopper and Dynamo, is an asset.
- Cloud-based model understanding an asset, experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn, being able to pick up new tasks, workflows, and software quickly.
- Proven ability to understand and follow complex instructions, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Strong communication skills, with a positive and proactive attitude in supporting project teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Salary range:
Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $60,000.00, commensurate with experience.
Transportation and bike storage:
A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
