What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a passionate, imaginative, and curious interior designer to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping innovative and immersive spaces that transcend aesthetics and foster meaningful connections between people and their environments. Working closely with partners, principals, and designers, they’ll help achieve project objectives and maintain KPMB’s high standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong grasp of the design process, including FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), space planning, technical drawings, and material specifications. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, with a keen interest in supporting a diverse range of project typologies, including education, commercial, cultural, healthcare, and residential.
Select key responsibilities:
Design development
- Conduct concept/schematic design, space planning, development, technical drawings, detailing, and millwork on assigned projects, guiding them from early conceptual stages through to completion.
- Oversee the selection and specification of furniture, finishes, equipment, and accessories.
- Prepare FF&E documents that ensure alignment with project goals, client expectations, and KPMB’s commitment to design excellence.
- Render conceptual design ideas and create 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings for internal reviews and client meetings.
Client interaction and presentation
- Prepare and support the presentation of design concepts and progress to clients, ensuring clear communication of design intent and project updates.
- Support client presentations by capturing feedback and refining design concepts to align with the client’s vision and project objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, timely deliverables, and a thorough understanding of client needs and preferences.
Project collaboration support
- Work closely with partners, principals, and designers to achieve overall project objectives and uphold KPMB’s high standards of quality.
- Collaborate with team members on interior design deliverables across diverse architectural sectors, including education, commercial, cultural, healthcare, and residential.
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors as required.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by actively listening, sharing insights, and supporting team success.
Candidate profile + qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interior Designer, with a robust understanding of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems, specifications, and expertise in colour and materials.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Ambitious, demonstrating a strong desire and drive to succeed.
- Recognized as a sharp thinker, with a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and connect multiple sources of information.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- A strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
- A self-starter with a high level of responsibility and a commitment to excellence.
- A registered member of ARIDO is preferred
- NCIDQ certification is an asset

Salary range:
Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $70,000.00.
Transportation and bike storage:
A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
