Intermediate Graphic Designer

What we’re looking for:

As a key member of the marketing team, the intermediate graphic designer will report to the director of marketing & communications. The ideal candidate will share our values, be a creative, enthusiastic designer that relentlessly pursues excellence in their delivery.

The core objective of this role is to create visually compelling graphics that enhance the firm’s marketing, communications and business development efforts. This role will be accountable for developing high-quality visual content that communicates the firm’s capabilities and rich history to a variety of audiences.

Select responsibilities:

Design and creative development

  • Develop high-quality graphic content using Adobe Creative Suite + Affinity for marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, proposals, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions (sketches, mock-ups, prototypes, finished designs and presentations for campaigns or pursuits).
  • Create visual content for social media, email campaigns, and the firm’s website to engage and inform target audiences.
  • Develop animations/short videos for digital formats.
  • Ensure all graphics adhere to KPMB’s brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Promote and reinforce the use of KPMB and KPMB Lab’s brand across all platforms.

Client and stakeholder engagement

  • Work closely with project architects, leadership, and other stakeholders to develop and refine design concepts for marketing materials.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas and improve existing design processes.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting graphic content for client meetings and industry events.

Project management

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery while staying within allocated hours and budgets.
  • Prioritize tasks and coordinate with team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Follow projects from concept to realization and ensure appropriate signoffs are acquired.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation of all design work.

Research and innovation

  • Stay current with design trends, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong client, project partners and vendor relationships.
  • Research and implement new design tools and technologies to improve efficiency and creativity.
  • Provide innovative solutions to enhance the firm’s visual communication strategy.

Candidate profile + qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications with work experience preferably within the Architecture/Design industry
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design across both print and digital marketing with a demonstrated capacity to drive beautiful and efficient solutions
  • Complete proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and Motion Graphic animation (AfterEffects, Animate, Cinema 4D)
  • Working knowledge of Affinity
  • Experience with email marketing software such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Vertical Response, Survey Monkey, etc.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional team
  • A proven combination of design capabilities and technological expertise
  • Strong time management skills, deadline-oriented, and results-driven
  • Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Video editing experience is an asset
  • Remain informed on industry trends, best practices, and standards
  • A pulse on a broad range of local and global issues and a cultural awareness

Salary range:

Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $75,000.00.

Transportation and bike storage:

A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMB’s office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday. Underground bicycle parking is also available.
