Kellogg’s New Global Hub: Talk/Tour with Dean Sally Blount + Bruce Kuwabara | Chicago Architecture Biennial
Article content
Since it was founded in 1908, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management has been a leading asset for Chicago’s business culture. Located on the shore of Lake Michigan, north of Chicago, the new Global Hub creates one of the world’s great centers of architecture and urbanism. The Chicago Tribune’s Blair Kamin praised the Global Hub, completed in March of 2017, as ‘a carefully wrought, spatially complex design that promised to teach future executives valuable lessons about collaboration, boldness and flexibility.”
Dean Sally Blount of the Kellogg School of Management with Design Partner Bruce Kuwabara of KPMB Architects invite you for a discussion and tour of the new Global Hub. Dean Sally Blount will speak about why architecture still matters in the digital age and Bruce Kuwabara will discuss the pedagogical, natural and historic forces that shaped the design – from Kellogg’s unique brand of teamwork to the shoreline of Lake Michigan, from the piazza of San Marco to the Chicago skyline.
Following the discussion, guests will be welcome to tour the building and engage in informal questions and answers with Kellogg’s Project Manager, Leann Paul and KPMB’s Project Architect Kevin Thomas. A cocktail reception will take place from 3 to 4 pm.
