The Center for Computing & Data Sciences at Boston University won an INSIDE award in the Education category at the 2023 World Architecture Festival (WAF) held recently in Singapore. The sister festival of WAF, INSIDE showcases the best in global interior design.
The Center was one of three KPMB projects shortlisted for WAF, out of over 800 entries from 333 architecture and design practices. The in-progress Montreal Holocaust Museum and Dream LeBreton were finalists in the Future Projects: Culture and Future Projects: Commercial Mixed-Use categories respectively. And the Center — shortlisted in the Completed Buildings: Higher Education and Research category — was a double nominee!
Alongside its shortlisting for a WAF award, the Montreal Holocaust Museum won a WAFX award in the Cultural Identity category earlier in the year.
On behalf of their project teams, partner Paulo Rocha presented the Center; founder Shirley Blumberg and Renée Daoust, founding partner at Daoust Lestage Lizotte Stecker Architecture, presented the Montreal Holocaust Museum; and partner Bruno Weber and Dan McTavish, senior associate at Perkins&Will, presented Dream LeBreton, to an international jury.
WAF is the only awards program where finalists present their projects live to a panel of judges. This year, Weber was part of the jury in the Completed Buildings: Transport category.
