We’re excited to share that the Center for Computing & Data Sciences and Scotiabank North Flagship are Archello Award finalists in the University Building of the Year and Office Interior of the Year – Large categories, respectively. The public can vote for finalists here until December 1.

The Center is a landmark for Boston University and the city of Boston. It brings 3000 students, faculty, and staff from previously dispersed departments together under one roof, giving them a flexible, welcoming space for research, study, and teaching.

It is one of Boston’s largest sustainable buildings and the University’s first LEED Platinum building. It contributes to the University’s 2040 carbon neutrality target and meets the city’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. In 2023, it was named Climate Change Project of the Year by the Environmental Business Council of New England.

Located in the KPMB-designed Bay Adelaide North, Scotiabank North is a new flagship location for one of Canada’s largest financial institutions and its first global headquarters in decades. Developed in close collaboration with Scotiabank’s design team, employees, and a group of consultants, the interior reflects equitable and democratic design principles focused on inclusion, accessibility, health, and wellness.

Working with the concept of “hosting your employees,” the project team designed unique amenities such as an art gallery, a reflection and personal care room, bistros, a full-floor lounge, and other versatile third spaces for productivity, collaboration, and socialization.
