An architect with decades of experience in healthcare and research facility design, Chris joined KPMB in 2024 to expand the firm’s reach in the healthcare sector and contribute to leveraging KPMB’s design capabilities to create transformative healthcare environments.

Chris believes that healthcare buildings should not only serve their functional purpose but also heal and strengthen the surrounding community. Throughout his career, he has worked on a wide range of healthcare facilities, from laboratories and mental health hospitals to acute care centres.

In previous roles, he worked on significant projects such as the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Peel Memorial in Brampton, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. As a principal at B+H Architects, he helped shape the firm’s healthcare expertise, leading projects like Burnaby Hospital and a master plan and national healthcare strategy for Trinidad and Tobago.

Chris’s impressive portfolio of healthcare projects has honed his technical skills and empathetic approach, enabling him to design welcoming spaces where patients feel calm and comfortable. An imaginative problem-solver and active listener, he is a champion for thoughtful, carefully researched projects. He values collaboration and is committed to delivering projects that meet both technical and human needs.

Throughout his career, he has worked to advance the field of healthcare design. He has spoken at the annual Forum on Healthcare Infrastructure in Eastern and Western Canada, and as an AZURE Talks guest, and his research has been shared at the European Healthcare Design Congress.

Outside of work, Chris is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys cycling, hockey, and skiing with his family, including his daughters who are ski racers.

"Great design is not an afterthought but integral to a successful healthcare environment.”
