Phyllis Crawford

As managing partner of KPMB, Phyllis Crawford leads the firm’s business strategy, governance, operations, and growth planning. She works closely with KPMB’s partners and leadership team to strengthen the firm’s performance while supporting its culture of creativity and design excellence.

For nearly two decades, Phyllis has played a central role in transforming KPMB’s business operations and governance structure. She has guided strategic planning initiatives, formalized leadership and decision-making frameworks, and overseen financial performance and risk management.

In 2025, Phyllis directed the firm’s expansion into the United States, establishing KPMB Design Inc. in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her work has helped create a sustainable platform for KPMB’s evolution while preserving the values that have shaped its success.

Phyllis is passionate about developing future leaders and succession planning. She has led significant ownership transition initiatives, expanded opportunities for emerging voices, and helped establish pathways for future generations of partners and shareholders.

Beyond KPMB, Phyllis is a founding board member and treasurer of the Canadian Association for the Practice of Architecture (CAPA) and serves on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Large Firm Roundtable. Through these activities, she advocates for stronger business practices, sustainable leadership models, and the policy and market conditions needed to support the long-term success of architecture and design firms across Canada.

Her insights have been published in Canadian Architect, and she has spoken at the Interior Design Show and other industry events.
